privacy of individuals and/or families who have contacted us for assistance. We realize that the concerns
you bring to us are highly personal in nature. We assure you that all personal information shared orally
and/or written will be managed with ethical and legal consideration. Additionally, we want you to
understand how we use the personal information we collect about you. Please carefully review this notice
as it describes our policy regarding the collection and disclosure of your nonpublic, personal information.

We collect personal information about you from the following sources:
. Applications, forms, email, or verbally that you provide
. Your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others
. Information we receive from your creditors or employment references provided by you
. Credit Reports
WHAT INFORMATION DO WE DISCUSS AND WITH WHOM?
Federal, State, and nonprofit partners for program review, monitoring, auditing, research, and/or
oversight purposes, and/or any other pre-authorized individual and/or organization. Additionally, if you
request us to speak on your behalf, we will discuss your information with financial service providers
(such as companies providing home mortgages.)
****We may share anonymous aggregated case file information, but this will not be disclosed in any
manner as to personally identify you in any way. It is done to evaluate our programs and design
future programs.
****We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect client information.
Purpose of the Program
Catholic Charities of Dallas Financial Stability & Career Services (FSCS) Program is committed to promoting financial
health to individuals and families by providing financial education, personal financial and career coaching, and credit
counseling in an efficient, compassionate and professional manner. The purpose of this policy and corresponding
procedures is to offer guidelines for clients receiving information about these services.
Purpose of this Disclaimer
This disclaimer is intended to be used in conjunction with the Catholic Charities of Dallas Notice of Privacy Practices.
It will allow the Financial Stability participants to understand the agency’s procedure for retrieving the participant’s
credit report and that the agency cannot offer any options for debt management, debt relief, and/or attorneyassisted
options. The program can provide referrals and resources to participants interested in those types of
assistances; however, it is at the participant’s discretion to utilize the resources. All services within the program
including, financial education, financial and career coaching, credit counseling, and housing counseling are free of
charge. The participant is not required to take part in any other services at the agency to participate in the FSCS
Program.
Retrieving Credit Report
The Financial Coach/HUD Counselor will retrieve the participant’s TransUnion credit report at no cost to the
participant. This is considered a “soft inquiry” and will have no effect on your credit score. The credit report can
reveal items that the participant was unaware of and may need him or her to take action independently of the
program to resolve errors and concerns. Our agency is not permitted to provide you a copy of the credit report to
take with you; we can only discuss the items on the report during the current session. The participant is able to
retrieve a copy of their credit report from the three major credit bureaus, once a year at no cost, by visiting
annualcreditreport.com. Our agency is permitted to provide you with the VantageScore® which is provided by
TransUnion. If you have specific questions on how the VantageScore® is determined, please call TransUnion at 1-800-
888-4213.
Conflict of Interest
In accordance with 24 CFR 214.303(f) (HUD requirement), a director, employee, officer, contractor, volunteer, agent
of a participating agency or the spouse, child or business partner shall not engage in activities that create a real or
apparent conflict of interest. No employee shall have a direct interest in the client as a landlord, broker, or creditor,
or have a financial interest in services obtained by the client.
